In 2015  I was invited by Arquetopia, residency in Puebla, Mexico, to be their Educator in residence. My goal was  to develop programming for the museum Museo de Arte Religioso Ex Convento Santa Monica. I led a group of college aged artists, curators, architects and educators interested in community engagement.

Brainstorming activities to engage with the collection in new ways.

This summer-long collaboration culminated in coMONICarte, a day-long intervention to invite community members to have a new relationship with the museum.  This space was a former convent and housed a collection of religious artworks, and we had to consider how to have a fun relationship with the space while staying respectful.  Activities were led at the confessional window, the only point in the space where the nuns living there would speak to someone from outside the convent.  Origami stations taught guests how to make origami cranes that housed a hope they had and roses that had a secret written within them.  These were installed in the nuns garden.  In the kitchen artists lead discussions on Chile  en nogada, a regional dish that is popularly served during the season of this event Models of the food were made of clay to talk about the symbolism and history of the food.
